We have heard more and more studies about the importance of traveling, whether to meet new places, get out of the ordinary life or just relax. Traveling seems to be something everyone likes, although not everyone sees it as a priority - but should we? YES, of course we should! Why? Simply because travel can be better than many medications, psychology appointments or therapy sessions. So, yes, you should have travel as a priority, include it in your short-term and long-term plans! But if you need more reasons why you should travel and why is it so important for your development, personally and emotionally, keep reading..

Find your(true)self
Many of us are trapped in this representation of our person created by society, where we are parents, workers and bill payers. We are so used to meeting the expectations of society and people around us that we often forget who we really are. When you travel, you get out of your comfort zone, you have the time and space to explore around you and to connect with yourself again.

Connect with other people and cultures
This might be the most obvious consequence of traveling - you go to a different place, meet new people and experience new habits. But connecting with people and cultures is much more than a photograph of an African kid or a baby elephant. Traveling is giving, receiving, sharing and learning - bringing a little of every place you've been and letting each experience shape who you are.

Break habits - mentally, physically, emotionally
Routine is the killer of the soul, and there's nothing better than experience something new in a new place. Traveling somewhere you've never been before is a great way to get out of the same daily life. Whether it's a new country or just a different city, when you get back home, you will feel refreshed and  charged to take on the challenges of life.

Travel is essential to opening your mind - when you meet different people, have new experiences and visit foreign places, the reality of these things shatter any preconceived ideas you might have had before. You start looking at people without stereotypes and the challenges of the natural world will only make you more open, accepting different ways of thinking, living and being.

Learning opportunities
Whether it's a different language, a new culture or local history, travel is a great way to learn. And you will not only learn about the people and the place you're traveling to, you can also learn about yourself - your limits, personality and strengths. Traveling is an exchange of experiences, learning and teaching that can only be obtained when you go where you've never been before.

Building and strengthening relationships
When you travel with someone, you get to know that person better and you also build your relationship without even noticing - you live experiences together that only you know about it and you share moments that can't be described in words. When you travel with someone, this trip will be forever in your lives. The same way, when you travel alone, you build trust in other people and you show that you don't always have to be physically present to value them.

Appreciating life
Traveling helps us to be grateful for what we have, the people around us, the place we call home and even those things that we don't remember daily - health, education, peace, freedom. Especially when you travel to places where the cultural shock is huge and the living conditions are much lower than what you are used to, this teaches you to value what you have and appreciate every single day of your life.

Traveling keeps us happy, healthy and energetic! It keeps us alive and allow us to experience that everything is possible!
